Cabinets

If you are looking for a “How-to-paint-cabinets-tutorial,” you’ve come to the right place! It’s no secret of what we do because our formula isn’t different or new–it’s time tested and proven.

If you want to paint your own cabinets, go right ahead! We don’t want to take the amazing opportunity away from you! But if the idea of taking 40 doors and hinges off, sanding both sides of every door, flipping each door multiple times, and finding places to store them while they dry doesn’t sound like the most exciting thing to you… then look no further because THAT is our kind of party! After 17 years our systems are flawless and we have tried and true methods we use for every set of cabinets. Let us take the job and hassle off your to-do list! Trust us for professional quality work, we can’t wait to get started!

Our first step when painting cabinets is to mark and number all hardware and doors. We remove all doors and drawer faces from the job site and bring them to our studio for prep and spraying. In the studio we’ll scuff-sand all surfaces, then degrease and wipe down every inch of the doors. We don’t paint anything until we’ve touched each surface at least 3 times. Once we are satisfied with our prep, we’ll spray a high-bonding primer followed by 2-coats of a Cabinet-Grade Paint. If we are glazing or producing a specialty finish we’ll finish everything with a clear topcoat for durability. Rest assured your cabinets will be hard and durable. In-house we follow the same protocol, however, we brush and roll all surfaces. We are minimally invasive; in fact, you’ll be surprised how little you’ll see us because most of the work is completed off-site!

“We’re having company over. Your job is to stick these color swatches to the cabinets so it looks like we’re doing something about this place”

“My favorite room in the house is my kitchen. It’s definitely the heart and soul of our home. It’s where we gather in the morning as a family to start the day, and it’s where we wind down at night over supper.”

-Kimberly Schlapman

Case studies

The amount of dark wood in this kitchen made the space feel heavy, drab, and outdated. Our goal was to bring some light and personalization. We accomplished this beautiful finish by painting a cream base and using a soft brown glaze on the exterior cabinets. A black oil rubbed finish on the island to accent the wainscoting created a stunning two-tone effect. This once lackluster kitchen is now a breath of fresh air to our clients.

“Love working with Lisa. She has a great sense of style and has often suggested things that I would not have thought of myself (that have turned out awesome!). She’s super talented and professional.”

– Susan M. of Denver

Talk about modern and chic! We could not have been more excited to bring this dream to life. These standard cabinets did not match the style and vision of our client. We used sleek light and dark shades of gray to modernize and bring this kitchen into a custom stylish oasis.

“Everyone that comes over to our house now is completely blown away by our kitchen. It’s an absolutely show stopper!”

– Jen I. of Lakewood

This home was recently purchased by our client’s. The kitchen was out-of-style, tired, and not representative of their personalities at all. A fresh two-tone painted finish took this space to a whole new level and made it feel like “their” kitchen not just “any” kitchen.

“I’m so impressed with the unique, creative services of this company! The quality of their work is exceptional – the finishes are masterfully done.”

– Marcia L. of Littleton

These clients had been in their home with the same cabinets for over twenty years. They needed something new! Something to bring a new brightness and life to their home. We used a crisp white paint with a golden accent line to instantly modernize this kitchen.
